The red lantern of a small ramen shop glows in the night. Jo pushes aside the noren curtain and steps inside.

Master

Welcome! The back of the counter is open, so please go ahead.

Jo

Thanks. I'll take the back seat then.

Jo hangs his suit jacket on a wall hook and slides onto the wooden stool. The master places a warm oshibori on the counter.

Master

Here is your hot towel. The menu is written on that wall board over there.

Jo looks up at the wooden menu board on the wall, deciding his dinner after a long day.

Jo

Excuse me, I'd like to ask for the soy sauce ramen.

Master

Sure thing, soy sauce. How about toppings?

Jo

Could I get extra chashu pork, and also add a soft-boiled egg?

Master

Extra chashu and add a soft-boiled egg. Can do. How about the spiciness?

Jo

I'm tired today, so please don't make it spicy.

Master

Got it, no spice. Anything else for you?

Jo

Also, five gyoza and a small bottled beer, please.

Master

Alright. Soy sauce ramen, extra chashu, soft-boiled egg topping, no spice. And five gyoza with a small bottle of beer.

The master gets a cold bottle of beer from the fridge and sets it down with a small glass.

Master

Here, first the beer. ...Good work today. Are you here on a business trip for work?

Jo

Yes, that's right. I plan to be here until Friday.

Master

Well, thanks for your hard work. I'll make the ramen right away, so drink your beer and wait.

Jo finishes his last spoonful of soup, sets down the bowl, and stands up with his wallet.

Jo

Master, thank you for the meal. The bill, please.

Master

Sure thing, I'm glad you cleared the bowl so nicely. That'll be one thousand four hundred yen in total.

Jo hands over the cash and takes his change. He puts his wallet away and hesitates.

Jo

Um, I'd like to ask you something, which way should I go to get to the East Exit of the station?

Master

For the East Exit, just go out of this shop and head straight to the right. Turn left at the end of the street, and you'll see the station entrance right away.

Jo

Go right and then left, right? Got it, thank you very much.

Master

Exactly. It's dark outside, so take care going back. Drop by again!
